The biggest wood panel producer in the nation released a statement stating that the factory, which occupies 100 acres and would need a total investment of Rs 1,000 crore in its second phase, is estimated to create 2,000 direct and indirect jobs over the course of the next five years.

A total of Rs 950 crore was invested in the first phase.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, opened the factory in front of CenturyPly Chairman Sajjan Bhajanka and other dignitaries.

“YSR Kadapa district’s significant resource repository gives it a prominent position on Andhra Pradesh’s industrial map.

“As the government has earmarked this region as a potential agro-industry hub, this initiative of CenturyPly marks the beginning of a series of investments of other industrial entities that will follow, leading eventually to making it a significant hub of furniture for the entire country,” Bhajanka stated in the statement.

Two large-size laminate presses are part of the factory and are currently in use.

The commissioning of the PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and MDF (medium density fiber) units is almost complete.

“In the first phase, we spent Rs 700 crore in MDF and Rs 250 crore in laminates and PVC.

Our manufacturing capacity in MDF will expand by a cube of 950 meters with the new machine, doubling our presence in this market.

An investment of Rs 1,000 crore would be made in growth plans during the second phase, according to Bhajanka.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has also said that it is dedicated to helping the state’s wood panel sector flourish.

At its Andhra Pradesh location, the Kolkata-based firm also has 8,55,000 laminate sheets, 3,13,500 CBM in MDF, and 15,000 tons in PVC.
