Arundhati Reddy, a bowler for the Delhi Capitals, was fined for breaking WPL code


<p>In relation to her on-filed behavior during the Delhi Capitals’ game against UP Warriorz, pacer Arundhati Reddy was fined ten percent of her match money for violating the Women’s Premier League’s (WPL) code of conduct.</p>

<p>In Monday night’s nine-wicket victory against the Warriorz at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in this city, the 26-year-old got a scalp.</p>
<p>An official announcement from the WPL said that Rundhati Reddy of the Delhi Capitals was fined 10% of her match costs for violating the WPL Code of Conduct during her team’s Monday match against the UP Warriorz at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.</p>
<p>“Arundhati acknowledged that she had committed a Level 1 Offense in violation of WPL Code of Conduct Article 2.5, which is about using words, deeds, or gestures that might incite a batter to retaliate violently if she is dismissed during a game.</p>
<p>Without providing any further details, the statement said, “The Match Referee’s decision is final and binding for Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct.”</p>
<p>Lower-order batsman Poonam Khemnar was removed by Arundhati in a game when Radha Yadav produced incredible figures of 4/20 to hold the Warriorz to 119/9.</p>
<p>After that, in only 14.4 overs and with opener Meg Lanning (51) and batsman Shafali Verma (64 not out) recording half century, Delhi Capitals won.</p>
